Alexandria 2005
Well, 2005 began as a new adventure, and an uncertain one at that.

After much thought, I decided that it was time to leave my coach who had been working with me
since I began skating two years earlier.  I did not want to leave but I knew that if I wanted to
keep excelling, I would have to.  It was not because she had done anything wrong or was not a
skilled coach, but because I was no longer meshing with her in a productive way.

So, we made the move to Shealee.  She taught me a lot about skating, especially how it is
important to not be too hard on myself.  She was very inspirational to me.

The summer of 2005 offered me the opportunity of a life time, to train in Lake Placid for five
weeks with world and Olympic level coaches.  While I was there, I spent a lot of time working
with Gilberto and Michela.  They were wonderful.  I still miss them often, there knowledge of the
sport is overwhelming, I loved telling people that my coach was in the 1998 Olympics (LOL).

During that same year, I took ice dancing with Beata Handra, 2002 Salt Lake City Olympian.
She was precise, and perfect at what she did.  I could watch her skate forever.  Her lines and
movement were beautiful.  When she moved away I was very sad that I would not be able to
continue working with her.  It was too much of a financial weight on my mom and David's
shoulders to try to travel to her for lessons.

I ended the year working with Erica back home, and with Linda, my current coach.
At that time, Linda was just working on my moves with me.

Also, during this year I went from Preliminary B to Juvenile.
Hope you enjoy the pictures!
